Well, I had a ruff day today. After a lot of questions and talking my therapist thinks I have Bipolar 2 along with my OCD. It makes a lot of sense but it is hard to accept. I Feel even more broken than before.
Is it common for people with OCD to also have Bipolar or vise versa? |

i don't think there's any reason for you to think of yourself as "broken" at all. you have some challenges, but who doesn't? we are creatures, and in this life, there isn't a single one of us who doesn't have some oddity, some difficulty, some pain - and probably more than some!
be glad that you have learned more about yourself and that you are getting the help you need to be more happy and whole! |

It's better that you know about it because you can be treated correctly and prevent an episode. It's a horrible diagnosis but it's common that people with bi-polar also have co-morbid anxiety disorders. That doesn't make it nice but knowing and understanding the disorder is the key to treating it properly. Your therapist will be able to prescribe meds that will keep things in check.
