Hi, mikero. Sorry to hear that. I don't know what it must be like to be diagnosed with an STD. Scary? Disappointing. Devastating? When were you diagnosed? If just in the last couple of days, I would imagine that it would be a very hard thing to accept so soon.

You will be able to accept it eventually, though, right? There are drugs to reduce flares, support groups and so on. Have you looked into either of those things? People do get herpes and go on to live full lives. I think if you find those people and talk with them, you'll be able to put this in perspective more and get on with your life.

Herpes sometimes never makes another appearence. It's a bit of a myth that it will always flare up.

Never had that one but am HIV+ so know a little about what you are going through.

Just let it sink in man, take your time over this one yeah?

Awesome. Do you know there are actually thriving dating sites for people with herpes if you just want to avoid the whole worry of how to tell somebody?

I'm sure the people on the support site will be able to give you a bunch of insight and solutions that we can't even begin to think of. Good luck!

Dating schmating.

I would be lying if I said that getting HIV wasn't a head****. Not just about impending death (I caught it in 1988 when i was 16 long before effective treatment was around), but also about dating.

All these years later and every woman I have had a relationship has been negative and a lot more relaxed about it all than I am. but my OCD liked to jump on that one so since my OCD diagnosis, a lot of past events became much clearer.
